One of the vital activities we started was “Singing For The Brain “ organised by the Alzheimer’s Society in a local church hall. Before mum had to go into a care home ,we supported independent living on her own for as long as possible. She lived with dementia for 7 years, & was lovingly cared for in residential & later a nursing care home for the last 3 years. My inspiration is my wonderful mum, Mary. Having fun & using music to connect, reminisce & sometimes break through some of the barriers & social isolation that loneliness, depression & dementia can bring. Even using quite crude equipment & no repertoire to fall back on, I quickly established a lovely little sing along group. Within this role I took it upon myself to start a sing along session within the care home. Jenny, Activities Co-Ordinator, Primley View Care Home, July 2017.Ĭontact Gavin on 07873 472 135 for more details and booking.Music & singing has always played a large part of my life, not professionally but just the pure joy of it.Ī fantastic opportunity came up at a local care home for an Activities Co- Ordinator & I jumped at the chance to start making a difference & enhancing peoples lives. Please keep in touch and hope it's not to long before we see you again. Thank you so very much for a fantastic afternoon. You have an amazing beautiful voice and we feel privileged that you have come to entertain us with it today. Everyone enjoyed themselves, and everyone has asked when you will come to sing for us again. "Gavin, I had to text and thank you soooooo much for such a brilliant afternoon. We will all miss Gavin very much but wish him all the best for the future".Īymi Brown, Home Manager, Meadowside Residential Home. Gavin is always very polite and kind natured and always entertains when he is here. All the residents really look forward to Gavin coming in and always speak very fondly of him. "Gavin Frank has been attending Meadowside on a monthly basis for more than 2 years to entertain the residents with his wonderful vocals and guitar playing. Heather Manktelow, Occupational Therapist, Primley Court Nursing Home. Gavin is a very gentle man of a calm disposition and is always a joy to have performing for us." The songs often bring back memories of the past for people and gets them reminiscing about days gone by. Our residents love his visits-they sing along and move to the music. If Gavin doesn't already have the songs the residents request in his repertoire, he will go away and learn them to make the songs he sings meaningful to the residents. "Gavin sings and plays the guitar beautifully. Sarah Cooney, Activities Co-ordinator, Brambledown Nursing Home. I am sure that your clients will enjoy Gavin visiting you as much as ours do.” Gavin has shown immense empathy with our clients, a quality which is enriched by his obvious love for music and people. He is very aware of the need for therapeutic music sessions and offers a range of various types of songs. All of which the clients thoroughly enjoy. “Gavin has been visiting Brambledown Nursing Home for 4 years now, playing the guitar and singing. The Meadow Care home, Muswell Hill, Oct 30th 2015. The residents and staff really liked it! Will book you again soon." Gavin, thanks great show at The Meadow last night Rupert Alexander, Activities Coordinator, Wellesley Rd Care Home, Feedback from residents - overwhelmingly positive!" During the Christmas season, carols and seasonal songs are provided. His repertoire ranges from World War I & II songs, children's songs, folk songs, and even hymns as well as many classics. Gavin is an experienced Voice Facilitator and is therefore adept at making people feel at ease and relaxed so they can get the most out of their singing as well as have an enjoyable experience. He is very interactive in his approach encouraging residents to join in as much as they are able. SINGING IN CARE HOMES Gavin has been singing in care homes since April 2009.

In this Animal Crossing-esque life sim players are tasked with a variety of mini games that include crafting, fishing, and finding things scattered around the island's constantly changing clutter.Ĭozy Grove is a humorous and charming blend of the adorable the macabre, with players catching critters like the Collapsed Lungfish while helping the lovable ghost bears to overcome their tragic lives and deaths. In a tweet on the official Cozy Grove Twitter account, however, developers Spry Fox detailed that the recent release of the New Neighbears DLC for Cozy Grove unveiled some problems if they wanted to continue adding more stories and characters. While there was no trailer or big showcase announcement, Spirit Scouts can look forward to continuing their adventures in late 2023.Thu, Oct 3rd 2013 04:14am - Timothy Geigner Instead, they felt it would be better to allow Cozy Grove to remain as it currently is and move on to developing Cozy Grove 2 to tell more ghostly stories. Hey, remember SimCity? You know, the game in which its creators botched the release so badly that it essentially became the how-to manual on how not to release a game? The game that the series creator came out against, calling the actions of the publishing company “ inexcusable.” The game that so pissed off its biggest fans with the online-requirement DRM, locked down platform, and anti-consumer behavior that they once again were voted as the worst company in America? Harvesting from a beehive or bee nest causes any bees inside it to become aggravated toward the player, unless there is a fire directly beneath it or a lit campfire within five blocks below, and the smoke is not obstructed. The dispenser must be placed beside and facing the hive or nest. After harvesting, the hive or nest is reset to empty (honey level 0, with the default appearance).Īlternatively, honey or honeycomb can be harvested by powering a redstone dispenser containing either a glass bottle or shears. To harvest honeycomb, the player uses shears on the nest or hive, causing it to drop three honeycomb items. To harvest honey, the player uses a glass bottle on the nest or hive the bottle then becomes a honey bottle. (The dripping honey is decorative it cannot be collected in a cauldron.) These changes signal that the hive or nest is ready for harvesting. Once it's full, it changes its appearance to show honey oozing out and, if the block below it isn't a full solid block, starts dripping honey particles. When the bee exits, the hive increments its honey level by 1, to a maximum of 5. After it's done, it waits for daylight with no rain (if necessary), then exits to go collect more pollen. Once full, bee nests and beehives provide two harvestable products: honey and honeycomb.Įach time a bee enters a nest or hive covered in pollen, it starts converting it to honey and honeycomb. Igniting a nest or hive allows any bees inside to escape, possibly catching fire as they flee.īees are protected from a campfire by placing a carpet over it. They first look for one at the same coordinates as the last one they entered, but if there's no nest or hive there or it already contains 3 bees when they arrive, they search the nearby area for another one. They can enter through any unobstructed side, top, or bottom, but can exit only from the front, and only if it's unobstructed by a solid block (including a non-full solid block in Bedrock Edition).īees fly into a nest or hive at night, during rain, and after loading up with pollen from a flower. This holds true in any biome in any dimension, and for any flower including wither roses and flowering azaleas.īee nests and beehives can house up to 3 bees at a time. Oak, birch, or mangrove trees grown from saplings that are within 2 blocks (including diagonally) of a flower on the same y-level have a 5% chance to grow with a bee nest containing 1–3 bees. Bee nests occur naturally and cannot be crafted. Beehives can be crafted in a crafting table. If you can’t do things well, keep them simpler IHG design team! You are trying too hard. They have this huge black TV wall but all these cables are running out of it. Really? How basic is that? 5- This is just for fun…but can they do cable management better. There is a grab bar, which is nice, but no shelf. 4- In the shower, there is no place to put your stuff. The height could not be adjusted and the casters/leg kept getting on the silly rug. The task chair looks really pretty but it is terrible quality. It’s like a game of avoiding getting hurt. Make sure you wear shin protectors! As an extra bonus, the sofa in the room also has another corner that sticks out on purpose. The bed platform is about 6” bigger than it needs to. You can see in the pictures all the plumbing covers on the walls! Bad design!! 2- The designer made an editor to physically hurt you. If you enjoy the sound of bathroom from your own room and the one above you, this place is for you. Most importantly someone at IHG thought this was a good idea. 1- Someone (either the architect or interior designer) decided to put toilets and shower against the wall that is next to your bed. Stayed here two nights and will never come again. You are well connected from there to practically everything in the area (when you don't want to take a Uber/Lyft), to the MIA airport and Vizcaya (by Metrorail), with Metromover and a bus to Miami Beach, to Bayside Markeplace, Tri-Rail and Brightline, etc. Plus you can easily go by foot (or Metromover) to various small shops, restaurants, City Centre mall, Mary Brickell Village and the rest of downtown/Brickell attractions of Miami. The location is also excellent, close to the free Metromover, to Metrorail, to a 7/11, CVS and Publix, to free trolleys going to several neighborhoods. We got a late check-out (the only type, if available) from 11 am to 1 pm for free, after which we could leave the luggage in their luggage room until that evening. Maybe a small place where to change in the pool area would be nice. The hotel has a free pool and gym at Floor 6. It was situated at the last floor of Indigo, below Atwell Suites, which also belong to IHG. The room was nice, clean, with 2 queen size beds, nice bathroom, a TV, safe, free Wi-Fi, flat iron. The feature uses a microphone built into the controller bar to translate sound into light patterns that dance across the panels in different ways depending on what preset scene you're using. The first thing I did after sticking a total of 10 hexagonal panels onto my bedroom wall was to make sure that Rhythm mode, my favorite Nanoleaf feature, still worked as well as before. Screenshots by Ry Crist/CNET Killer features and a clumsy app There's a lot to play with in Nanoleaf's app, but it's overcrowded with options and unintuitive to use. For comparison, a single 60W incandescent light bulb would add a little under $60 to your bill over the same span. In fact, if you ran all 7 panels in the Hexagon starter kit at full blast for a full year, 24/7/365, it would only add about $13.45 to your energy bill. At 2W per panel, the Hexagons hold to Nanoleaf's tradition for efficiency, which dates back to its days selling 3D-printed, super-efficient LED light bulbs. Meanwhile, you connect a separate, 42W power supply into another side of the panels to keep up to 21 of them powered. That controller also houses the system's Wi-Fi radio and the microphone it uses to sync the lights with whatever you're listening to. Instead, you connect a tiny, unobtrusive control bar with physical buttons onto any side of any of the panels you like. Speaking of those square-shaped predecessors, the Hexagons ditch the ugly touch buttons that marred the clean design and usability of the Canvas panels. That makes it easier to tessellate the things across your walls than it was with the smaller, square-shaped Canvas panels - and unlike those Canvas panels, the light isn't sectioned off into odd-looking quadrants (although the corners are admittedly a little bit rounded). Each one is nice and big, enough so to fit your whole hand with fingers outstretched. The Hexagons are also Nanoleaf's best-designed light panel yet. I'll also add that the Nanoleaf app's Layout Creator, which lets you arrange your panels in the app and then see how they'll look on your wall using augmented reality, is a nice, helpful touch during setup. It's still obviously more of a hands-on process than simply swapping a light bulb, but it's leaps and bounds better than before, and less likely to rip up your walls when the panels come down. With the Hexagons, you get new, plug-style connectors that snap into the backs of the two panels they're joining. Before, they looked like dual-sided Lightning plugs that would slide straight into little slots on the edge of each panel, sort of like the pegs that hold Ikea furniture together. The connectors that link each panel together are different now, too. That means you can take a panel off the wall separate from the mounting plate from there, the sticky tab is much easier to remove with the panel itself out of the way. With the Hexagons, each panel now pops in and out of its own little sticky-tab-equipped mounting plate. Nanoleaf used to ask you to apply sticky tabs to the back of each panel and stick them straight to your walls, which makes it a pain to rearrange them. They can transform a dull wall into an eye-catching thing within seconds. The biggest change is the way you mount them. The Shapes are Hexagonal and can be connected to create various customised designs to light up a room. The box of Nanoleaf Shapes resembles a toy set but when one glance at the inside, it surely gives a thrilling experience. These cannot be connected to any other shapes. Connect Technology Shapes use Connect+ technology, which allows for connecting different shapes. The maximum panel support here is up to 30 panels only. Maximum Support The maximum panel support can go up to 500. While the Light Panels are mounted straight to the wall using the given double-sided Mounting Tape. Mounting Plate Shape Hexagons come with an additional Mounting Plate that remains behind the actual panel. There is no such feature available in Light Panels. Touch Experience The Touch experience is available. Want to save this article for later? Click the heart in the bottom right corner to save to your own articles box! Move the scenes together by using O and [ĥ. Delete scenes that I don't want with DELETEĤ. Cut scenes with CTRL + SHIFT + D (I use PAGE UP and PAGE DOWN to move to the first frame of the next scene and then I do the CTRL + SHIFT + D)ģ. I don't know how else to approach this so basically these are the steps that I used:Ģ. I didn't really know how to do this so the basic idea was import an episode in AE cut the scenes that I like from that episode do this over and over with all of the episodes and then choose just a couple of scenes that fit the music well and start adding the effects, transitions etc. The anime is made out of 24 episodes and every episode has a couple of scenes from different episodes of the anime as you can see in the video I posted here. I want to make AMV (Anime Music Video) here's an example of how that looks: īasically I've chosen some music and Anime that I will make it out of. So from what I understand O moves to the start of the last frame so when I use the [ shortcut and it overlaps it doesn't really matter right?Īlso, I understand that AE is not made for cutting and stuff like in Premiere Pro, but let me walk you through how I tried to do things. A 5-minute movie with 30 or 40 shots that need color correction, titles, even an occasional transition or effect applied will render in about 1/4 the time the very same edit with the very same effects, transitions, and color correction will render in After Effects. You will work faster, get more done, have al lot fewer rendering issues if you use AE as it was intended and do your editing in Premiere Pro. On rare occasions, a sequence will be 10 or 15 seconds. Occasionally I will create short sequences in an AE comp but those sequences are always limited to one sentence of dialogue or narration or one phrase of music. I had a comp the other day that was 10 frames. My average comp is less than 7 seconds because the average shot in the movies I work on is under 7 seconds. Only things you can't do in the NLE should be done in AE. AE is NOT a video editing app and you should not have anything in your comp that can be edited, color corrected, or have effects applied in an NLE like Premiere Pro. This makes me think you are trying to use After Effects and a video editor. I can see from your screenshot that your CTI is already at 37 seconds, that you have at least 15 layers, and they are all the same shot. If you are trimming a shot that is between two other cuts and you press w, you will see the first frame of the next shot, or if you do that on the last shot in a sequence, you will see black. In Premiere Pro the first frame cut is q, the last frame cut is w. On the other hand, when you use a nonlinear editor and you make a cut the last frame is gone. There is nothing wrong, you are just not understanding that AE, and every other compositing and visual effects app I have ever used, always lets you see the last frame so you can line things up without backing up one frame. If it moved to the end of the last frame then you would not see anything in the comp panel. O always moves to the start of the last frame, not the end. |
